Balquhain Advisory Team Expands


John Duguid, Managing Director of Balquhain Limited is very pleased to announce that Daniel Zou has joined Balquhain's Advisory professionals.

Daniel joins Balquhain as a Senior Consultant specializing in energy consulting. Previously, Daniel was a management consultant in the energy practice of Navigant Consulting Inc., an international consulting firm. His expertise focuses on renewable energy projects, feasibility studies, due diligence, market assessments, technical and financial modeling. Major clients from past engagements include, but not limited to, Ontario Energy Board, Ontario Power Authority, Ontario Electricity Financing Corporation, Lehman Brothers, and Environment Canada.

Daniel holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree with Honor in Electrical Engineering from University of Toronto. He is currently a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning (ASHRAE) and a Level II candidate for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Balquhain Advisory Team Expands


John Duguid, Managing Director of Balquhain Limited is very pleased to announce that Rod Howland has joined Balquhain's Advisory professionals.

Rod Howland is a Senior Business Advisor specializing in debt and equity financing for growing companies. He helps his clients’ gain a competitive advantage by arranging financing that is tailored to the particular needs of the company. Rod draws on his extensive experience in banking, investment banking, venture capital and consulting to help clients overcome the challenges they face when trying to arrange financing for their businesses. He has particular expertise in helping companies develop appropriate financing strategies and preparing business plans. In the course of his career Rod has served as Vice President Corporate Banking for a major chartered bank and held similar positions with a term lender, an investment dealer and a venture capital firm. Rod has financed the debt and equity requirements of both large and small companies in a wide range of industries including manufacturing, distribution, real estate and technology intensive businesses. He has also served as a member of the investment committee of a Toronto based mezzanine fund and as a director of both public and private companies. Rod earned his degree in business administration from George Washington University, and is a member of the Association For Corporate Growth and the Canadian Association of Management Consultants.

Appointments to the Balquhain Advisory Board


John Duguid, Managing Director of Balquhain Limited is delighted to announce that Dr. Don Cyr, Dr. David J. Howell and Andrei Manoukovski, Phd have joined the Balquhain Advisory Board.

Dr. Cyr is an Associate professor of Finance at Brock University, St. Catharines, Ontario and the Associate Dean for graduate programs and research within the Faculty of Business. His teaching focuses on corporate finance, international finance and investments and carries out research in all of these areas.

Dr. Howell is the haed of Kanangra Ratings Advisory Services, based in Sydney, Australia and was previously co-head of the Asia-Pacific Project Finance unit of Moody’s Investors Service – one of the major global ratings agencies. David has been working in the financial markets for 20 years, in Sydney, New York and London. He has gained experience in all forms of financing from equity to debt. The majority of his experience has been in project finance, and he has financed mines, process plant, power stations, water treatment works, hospitals, toll roads and other infrastructure.

Andrei Manoukovski is the President of Krescendi Inc., a Toronto based private equity firm specializing in Canadian innovative private companies. Prior to founding Krescendi, he was Managing Partner of an international project finance and real estate development group based in Moscow. Andrei founded and was Dean of one of the first business schools in Russia – International Business School of Moscow
(IBS-M), which later became The Institute of Business Studies (Moscow).
